Managing boundaries and fear

More good stuff from one of the most thoughtful and insightful people in the business, Claude Werner.  Go read it.  My favorite sentence:

Controlling fear is a complex topic that is not often discussed in the training community. If anything, the community tends to promote fear.

So true!  I’d actually go further and say that most instructors promote paranoia.  Almost none – but there are some great exceptions – spend time on managing a kinky situation so that it doesn’t escalate.  Not much money in that…sadly.  Plus it requires skills that too many people teaching don’t have.  Runin’ gunnin’ and indulging fantasies are more fun for the average student and more profitable for the instructor.

Sorry to sound snarky but I’m too old to be polite about this stuff.
